Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Service Technician to join our team at United Rentals. As a key member of our Service Department, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of rental equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.

  • Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed to ensure a high level of technical expertise within the team.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed, including completion of work orders in a timely manner.

  • Travel to customer job sites as required to perform repairs and maintenance on rental or customer-owned equipment, ensuring that service vehicles are maintained in a clean and professional manner.

  • Assist with the pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure the smooth operation of the Service Department.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  • 3-5 years of experience in repairing and maintaining equipment and tools.

  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.

  • Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.

  • Must own tools applicable to the position.

  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.

  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
