About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall and Ceiling System Installation Specialist to join our team at MAHIL DRYWALL LTD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth and even finish.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit and a professional finish.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to maintain a stable and secure structure.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry to prevent any imperfections or defects.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to ensure a strong and durable bond.
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets to maintain a safe and functional environment.
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath to ensure a professional and durable finish.
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation to ensure a safe and functional environment.
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts to ensure a precise and professional finish.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall and ceiling system installation.
  • English language proficiency as the primary language of communication.
  • Ability to work 30 to 40 hours per week in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
