Your Key Role

As a Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager at R.V. Anderson Associates Limited, you will play a critical role in leading and managing civil engineering projects from conception to completion. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with the Vice-President, Halifax.
• Lead and manage cross-functional teams of civil engineers, technicians, and support staff to deliver projects efficiently and effectively.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and quality control checks to ensure projects meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their expectations.
• Manage project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure the company remains competitive and compliant.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with at least 15 years of progressive experience in municipal engineering, with a minimum of 10 years in a consultancy environment.
• Project management (PMP) designation is an asset.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct teams to achieve project goals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
• Proficient in project management software, including Microsoft Project, Asana, or similar tools.
• Valid driver's license.
