Position: Application Release Engineer (Websphere)

Job Location: Toronto, ONT, CAN (2 days minimum onsite)

Employment Type: W2

Duration: Long Term

Work Eligibility: All Work Authorizations are Permitted – No Visa Transfers

Key Technologies: MS Office, Agile, UNIX, WebSphere, JBoss

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop non-functional testing strategies for applications, middleware, and database technologies tailored to specific projects.
  • Implement test scenarios utilizing available scripts.
  • Perform non-functional assessments, including operability, failover, and negative testing.
  • Generate comprehensive reports detailing testing procedures, defects identified, and performance metrics.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in the IT sector.
  • Familiarity with internal business practices and associated tools/processes is advantageous.
  • Proficient change management capabilities.
  • Strong expertise in UNIX (AIX preferred).
  • Solid experience with Windows Server.
  • Hands-on experience with WebSphere, Apache, and Tomcat.
  • Experience in cloud deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of Azure and JBoss.
  • Familiarity with Confluence and Jira.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) applications.
  • Experience with Internet Information Services (IIS).
  • Understanding of Agile and DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket, Nexus) and methodologies.

Education:

College / University degree or equivalent professional experience.
