Our steel products serve various industries, including construction, mining, manufacturing, automotive, shipbuilding, and energy, encompassing renewable energy and military applications.
The steel industry is undergoing significant transformations, and we are at the forefront of this evolution, transitioning towards electric arc steelmaking technology. This strategic shift positions Algoma as a leader in the production of environmentally friendly steel, allowing us to deliver low-carbon steel products while minimizing our ecological impact and fostering a sustainable future.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of Grade 12 education or equivalent, along with certification as an Ironworker (420A) or (420B) or Metal Fabricator (Fitter) (437A) with relevant experience.
- Possession of a 4-position CWB Welding ticket is required.
- A valid Gas ticket is considered an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of tools and equipment utilized in the trade, as well as adherence to all safety protocols associated with the profession.
- Willingness and ability to work on a rotating shift schedule.
