Island Health is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:
- Graduation from a recognized university program in Occupational Therapy.
- Current practicing full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
- Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
- One to two years' experience working with Mental Health & Substance Use Services clients.
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and demonstrated clinical skills in working with seriously mentally ill and/or addicted clients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide occupational therapy services to clients with mental health and substance use issues.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote client independence and well-being.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive client care.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify client needs and goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and services to ensure seamless client care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of relevant legislation.
