About the Role

As a key member of the scheduling team, the Scheduling Operations Specialist will report directly to the Scheduling Operations Manager. This role is pivotal in collaborating with the Assistant Manager and other team members to ensure seamless coverage of responsibilities. The Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining a comprehensive and strategic approach to troubleshooting and escalating scheduling and system-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and expert advice in scheduling to align with operational priorities.
  • Facilitate actions that address the scheduling needs of the zone operations.
  • Utilize scheduling and time management software effectively, offering direction and training for scheduling activities and contingency plans.

Primary Contact

The Specialist will serve as the first point of contact for managers, employees, and the scheduling operations team, ensuring compliance with scheduling and time systems, relevant legislation, and organizational policies. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of data integrity and business process quality.

Qualifications

We invite applications from candidates who possess:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant certifications in scheduling or business enterprise information systems, such as SF, UKG, or Workforce Pro.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in scheduling operations, preferably within a unionized healthcare environment.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Interpersonal skills that foster teamwork and collaborative relationships.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

Work Environment

This is a permanent full-time position, requiring a commitment of 75 hours biweekly. The compensation for this role is competitive, and successful candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
