Job Overview
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Stacker Operator for our operations. This role will report directly to the Production Supervisor and is crucial for maintaining our production standards.
The primary responsibility is to operate and uphold the machinery effectively to ensure the production of high-quality products in alignment with our company’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Knifeman and contribute as a proactive team member.
- Provide backup support for the Knifeman as needed.
- Troubleshoot issues and assist in maintaining machine efficiency to meet production targets.
- Ensure that units are stacked accurately and organized.
- Reorganize sheets when necessary to address warping and other issues.
- Conduct visual inspections and remove any non-compliant sheets.
- Operate and monitor the label applicator, sheet inserter, and skid inserter.
- Affix load tags for order identification as required.
- Perform quality assessments before and during production runs.
- Communicate quality concerns to the wet end team.
- Adjust controls as necessary for the BHS Stacker, Labeler, and related equipment.
- Prepare machinery for end-of-shift shutdowns, which may include overtime.
- Adhere to all ISO and HACCP protocols.
- Conduct routine checks of oil levels and replenish as necessary.
- Lubricate and grease the dry end of the corrugator as required.
- Maintain cleanliness by performing housekeeping duties, including conveyor and roller clean-up.
- Clean and blow off the slitter-scorer-knife prior to maintenance.
- Report any issues to the Knifeman or supervisor immediately.
- Ensure daily clean-up and perform preventive maintenance at the end of shifts.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Follow specific lockout/tagout procedures for equipment.
- Complete daily checklists for mobile equipment operators, including clamp trucks and forklifts.
- Report hazards or issues to your supervisor promptly.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum educational requirement: Grade 10.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Previous experience in manufacturing is advantageous.
- Proficient in machine operation.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
