Mechanical Supervisor

Canadian Pacific (CPKC) and Kansas City Southern (KCS) have merged to form CPKC, the only truly North American railway. As a Supervisor Mechanical, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods across our 20,000-mile network.
Job SummaryThe Supervisor Mechanical provides planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for freight car repairs and inspections. This role requires a strong focus on safety, effective communication, and driving accountability.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a unionized team in maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs on freight cars, mobile equipment, and vehicles.
- Ensure freight car repairs comply with Association of American Railroad, Transport Canada standards, and CPKC policies.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to improve fluidity and achieve Local Service Operating Plan and Operating Plan compliance.
- Provide leadership accountability for safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics.
- Lead safety compliance within the terminal, providing corrective actions as needed.
- Mentor and coach mechanical employees through active observation and feedback.
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
- Valid driver's license.
- 2 years' previous supervisory experience in logistics or an operational environment (preferred).
- Availability to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays in all weather conditions.
- Ability to drill down, understand root cause, and resolve complex issues.
- Excellent focus, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Read and understand safety instructions, operating rules, and regulations in English.
- Proficient in MS Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
