Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Logistics and Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.

Requirements
  • Certifications: Air Brakes Endorsement, Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Documentation Knowledge: Accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection report, maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation, trip reports
  • Communication Systems Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, operate GPS and other navigation equipment, trip recorder (on-board computer)
  • Transportation/Travel Experience: International, long-haul, national
  • Security and Safety: Valid passport, basic security clearance, bondable, criminal record check, driver's validity license check, driving record check (abstract), drug test, medical exam
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, sitting
  • Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Own Tools/Equipment: Cellular phone
  • Personal Suitability: Flexibility, organized, reliability, team player, hardworking, patience
