The Senior Security Incident Response Analyst is a critical role within Oracle's Security Operations team, responsible for supervising security tools, performing investigations of notable events, and ensuring the effective implementation of security processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Performing in-depth investigations of intensified notable events
- Collecting and analyzing evidence related to security events and compliance audits
- Validating and reviewing security processes and procedures
- Identifying and mitigating false positives
- Implementing initial mitigation and containment procedures
- Creating and maintaining reporting related to security events
- Collaborating with service and operations teams to validate security events and anomalous activity
- Resolving and reporting on possible causes of security events and alerts
- Operating security tools for continuous monitoring and analysis of system/network activity
- Assisting in the development of security alerts and processes based on knowledge gained from daily monitoring and triage
- Solid understanding of computer networking concepts and protocols, network security methodologies, and host/network access control mechanisms
- Knowledge of intrusion detection methodologies and techniques, as well as system and application security threats and vulnerabilities
- Ability to think critically and apply techniques for detecting host and network-based intrusions using intrusion detection technologies
- Effective collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Ability to function in a collaborative environment, seeking continuous consultation with other analysts and guides, both internal and external to the organization
- Experience with security tools, such as SIEM systems and network protocol analyzers
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles and related organizational requirements
- Ability to recognize and mitigate cognitive biases that may affect analysis
