We are seeking a highly skilled Data Insights Specialist to join our team at the Government of Alberta. As a Data Insights Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging data to support evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning within the ministry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data analysis efforts to extract insights and trends from large datasets related to government programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop data-driven solutions to address program objectives.
  • Oversee data collection, validation, and cleansing processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop and maintain data models, databases, and dashboards to facilitate data visualization and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior data analysts and support staff, ensuring the quality and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Lead the development and implementation of data quality assurance measures and compliance protocols.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to communicate data findings, recommendations, and insights.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and technologies in data analysis and reporting.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and performance metrics within the ministry.
  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Team to drive strategic decision-making and improve program outcomes.
  • Develop training materials and provide training sessions to staff on data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on data analysis methodologies, tools, and best practices within the ministry.
