Job Summary

The Mechanical Design Specialist will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and equipment, conducting research and analysis, and supervising a team of technicians and engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop mechanical systems and equipment, including power plants and machines, to meet the company's quality and performance standards.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and to develop new designs and technologies.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise a team of technicians and engineers to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Develop and implement maintenance schedules and programs to ensure the optimal performance of mechanical systems and equipment, and investigate and resolve mechanical failures and maintenance problems.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical design and development, research and analysis, and team supervision.

  • Work Environment: The Mechanical Design Specialist will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
