Yves R. Hamel et Associés (YRHA) is seeking a skilled and experienced Fiber Optic Network Design Engineer to join our team in Montreal.

Reporting to the Project Manager or Engineering Director, you will play a vital role in the planning, design, and implementation of FTTH networks. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring efficient and reliable fiber optic infrastructure for our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop comprehensive network designs.
  • Conduct technical surveys to assess existing infrastructure and identify optimal deployment strategies.
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications for fiber optic networks.
  • Evaluate and select equipment suppliers based on performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders regarding network design and implementation.
  • Maintain a structured and organized approach to project documentation and communication.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in the field of outdoor networks and fiber optic deployment.
  • In-depth knowledge of cabling, networking, and IP solutions within the telecommunications industry.
  • Strong understanding of relevant telecommunications and cable network standards.
  • Proficiency in using office software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.

Education: DCS (Diploma of Collegial Studies) minimum. B.Sc. or B.Eng. preferred. Specialization: Engineering, Telecommunications, Electricity, Civil or Computer Science.
