Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Designer to join our team in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing high-quality systems that meet specifications, food safety requirements, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop innovative solutions to engineering problems and challenges
  • Manage and maintain facility drawings and models
  • Procure and manage outside design/drafting services and hold them accountable to company standards
  • Lead design reviews and influence project direction
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and process optimization, departmentally and company-wide, as required
  • Drawing System Management
  • Assist with minor IT troubleshooting across the location
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or Design and Drafting programs
  • Ability to learn and adapt to various software systems, including company ERP/CMMS systems
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D and Revit in their current releases
  • Autodesk Vault
  • MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong Information Technology skills
  • Self-motivated, team player with the ability to self-manage priorities and organize the workload to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong Computer skills
  • Open and flexible to change and take initiative
  • Ability to work in an environment that exposes staff to allergens such as gluten and grain dust
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to other Grain Millers Inc. locations, training, or industry events as needed
