Position Overview
At Porter Airlines, we offer an exciting opportunity for an Aircraft Engineer.

We are seeking Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers who possess a Dash-8/Embraer E Jet Type Rating along with Heavy Turboprop or other transport category aircraft Type Rating. Reporting directly to the Manager of Line Maintenance, the Aircraft Certification Authority (ACA) will play a crucial role in supporting our fleet within a line maintenance context.

Key Responsibilities
1. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to aircraft structural, mechanical, or hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with specifications, technical drawings, and approved manuals.
2. Conduct repairs and overhauls on aircraft systems, including engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel, and pneumatic systems.
3. Disassemble and reassemble airframes, engines, and other aircraft systems for maintenance and cleaning.
4. Perform and document both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
5. Manage inventory of parts and supplies essential for maintenance operations.
6. Participate actively in the Safety Management System (SMS) by reporting hazards and incidents encountered during operations, while promoting adherence to the Company Safety Policy.
7. Maintain organization and functionality of company facilities and vehicles.
8. Assist with ramp operations as necessary.

Possession of a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (M2 or E rating) is essential. Candidates should have a proven technical background with a minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably with endorsements on DASH 8–400 and/or Embraer Regional Jets or equivalent aircraft types.

Physical requirements include the ability to frequently climb, kneel, and access confined spaces, as well as the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates must be able to obtain necessary Transport Canada security clearances and a driver's airside license within the stipulated timeframe. A full, unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory. Candidates should also be prepared to complete background and pre-employment screening tests.
