About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Planner to join our team at the Bank of Montreal. As a Financial Planner, you will play a key role in providing financial and investment planning and advice to our customers, helping them achieve their financial goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Engagement: Proactively engage with new and existing customers and prospects to understand their financial needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Business Development: Implement business development strategies to acquire new business, including outbound calling campaigns and cultivating branch referrals.
  • Relationship Management: Develop and implement a relationship management plan to meet the needs of clients, providing ongoing support and guidance to help them achieve their financial goals.
  • Investment Solutions: Respond to customer investment requests, providing solutions and recommendations based on an understanding of the customer's goals and risk tolerance.
  • Financial Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans for clients, including investment, retirement, and estate planning.
  • Communication: Communicate complex financial information to clients in a clear and concise manner, ensuring they understand their financial situation and options.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including branch staff and other financial advisors, to ensure seamless delivery of financial services to clients.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, maintaining current knowledge of personal investment products, practices, and trends.
Requirements
  • Education: Typically between 3-5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Designations: CFP designation preferred or one of the following: Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation, Wealth Management Essentials (WME) + Financial Planning Supplement, Professional Financial Planning Course (PFPC), Financial Planning I & II (FP I & II).
  • Canadian Securities Course: Licensed to sell mutual funds excluding QC or IQPF in Quebec.
  • Advanced Working Knowledge: Advanced working knowledge of the financial industry, including financial products, services, and regulations.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience, including financial planning, investment, and estate planning.
  • Communication and Collaboration Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
