Are you an adaptable and skilled Technical Content Specialist ready to join the Ciena Product Content Development team?
Can you enhance, develop, and sustain Ciena's Technical Publications that are vital to our operations?

Key Responsibilities:
Strategize, create, develop, write, edit, and refresh a range of software/hardware multimedia and web-based technical publications (including product descriptions, application/platform guides, installation manuals, operational and administrative manuals, user guides, API reference guides, etc.) for packet optical and network management solutions. Investigate and convert technical data into multimedia and web-based documents (including on-product context-sensitive help) for both technical and non-technical audiences. Propose and implement innovative documentation techniques and formats that meet technical and customer needs. Generate product documentation and online assistance that is clear, concise, and adheres to documentation and quality assurance standards. Collaborate within cross-functional teams that include senior Product Line Management, Software & Hardware Design, Product Verification, System Network Engineering, Customer Support, and Marketing personnel.Required Qualifications:
Advanced proficiency with Adobe FrameMaker (Structured/XML) Familiarity with DITA Experience with editorial tools, such as Congree or Acrolinx Knowledge of Agile development methodologies, including the creation of customer documentation in an Agile setting Proficiency with CMS and CCMS document management systemsPreferred Qualifications:
Background in packet optical/data hardware and the provisioning/monitoring aspects of telecommunications equipment and networks Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Competent in Visio, Illustrator, and/or other vector-based graphics creation and editing software Awareness of Generative AI technologiesCompensation and Benefits:
The annual salary range for this role is $71,900 - $114,900 CAD.
At Ciena, our pay ranges are designed to reflect variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, representing our diverse products, industries, and business lines. Please note that the salary range information provided pertains specifically to the primary location.
Non-sales employees may qualify for a discretionary incentive bonus, while sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. Alongside competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
