Job Summary:

NOV is seeking a highly skilled Coating Operator to join our team in Nisku, Alberta. As a Coating Operator, you will be responsible for the internal coating of used tubulars and related goods. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mixing and Application: Mix and apply coating to system, thread spray application, and ensure proper coverage.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate an overhead crane and related equipment to handle and coat tubulars.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor trainees and ensure they follow basic safety rules and applicable safe work practices and procedures.
  • Reporting and Safety: Report any accidents, incidents, near misses, or hazards in the workplace and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and maintain open communication to ensure a smooth workflow.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Education: High school education with the ability to read, write, and speak English to perform job duties.
  • Driver's License: Class 5 Driver's License in good standing.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
  • Training and Certifications: Standard First Aid and H2S Alive training preferred.
  • Experience: Previous coating experience is an asset.
HSE Requirements:
  • Work Environment: Work is performed in a shop environment with possible exposure to dust, fumes, or gases and changes in temperature and humidity.
  • Physical Demands: Physical requirements include squatting, bending, reaching, twisting, lifting up to 23 kilograms, walking on rough ground, and working near moving equipment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Required to wear proper protective clothing and equipment at all times and perform duties in a safe manner.
