About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Gogo Excavating & Contracting Ltd. As an Excavation Specialist, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as backhoes and loaders to excavate and move earth and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Measure distance, volume, length, and weight to ensure accurate excavation and material handling.
  • Understand and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to complete tasks accurately.
  • Operate computer-controlled equipment to automate excavation and material handling processes.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification.
  • 1-2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial/commercial/institutional (ICI) construction or residential construction setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and physical stamina.
  • Own transportation and willingness to travel to job sites.
  • Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, and safety vest.
