Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Supervise and coordinate the receipt, storage, and issuance of merchandise, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimizing stock discrepancies.
  • Staff Supervision: Lead and motivate a team of sales workers, apprentices, and stages hands, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet their duties and responsibilities.
  • Merchandise Control: Authorize the return of merchandise, manage sales, and prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Supply Chain Management: Consult with suppliers to negotiate prices, manage inventory, and ensure timely delivery of merchandise.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a supermarket or bakery department.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field an asset.
