About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tour Guide to join our team at Arctic Range Adventure Ltd. as a Tour Director. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading guided tours of museums, gallery exhibitions, and historical, heritage, and other sites, answering inquiries, and providing information to visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sightseeing or tour vehicle to transport clients to various destinations.
  • Confirm transportation and accommodation reservations to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for clients.
  • Collect administration or entrance fees from clients as required.
  • Co-ordinate recreation activities and ensure that clients have a memorable experience.
  • Describe points of interest, answer questions, and supply information to clients during the tour.
  • Resolve itinerary and other problems that may arise during the tour.
  • Ensure and monitor luggage transfers to ensure that clients' belongings are safely transported.
  • Assist clients with check-in procedures for accommodation and/or transportation.
  • Utilize microphones or other communication devices to provide directions and other pertinent information to visitors.
  • Attend to international border crossings and ensure that all necessary documentation is in order.
  • Co-ordinate activities with local tour guides or leaders of performance groups to ensure a seamless experience for clients.
  • Provide information on tipping customs, currency exchange rates, metric conversion, and other details to clients.
  • Sell souvenirs to clients as an additional revenue stream.
  • Assist clients/guests with special needs and provide additional support as required.
Requirements
  • First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
