Position Overview
Sinai Health is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Services team. The Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in delivering safe, patient-centered care and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize robotic systems for medication dispensing
- Manage inventory for automated dispensing units and operating room stations
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds, including total parenteral nutrition and chemotherapy
- Oversee the distribution of narcotics and controlled substances
- Repackage and label medications
- Conduct quality assurance checks and maintain inventory and equipment, including robotic systems
- Handle purchasing and inventory management
- Independently verify technical tasks
- Participate in departmental meetings and ongoing education
- Assist in training new staff members
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of policies and procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
- Registered and licensed as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
Preferred:
- Minimum of one year of recent experience in a hospital setting
Essential Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Capability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proven track record of excellent work performance and attendance
