Job OverviewProtection Specialist - East Anglia
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Protection Specialist to join our team at Carbon60 in East Anglia. As a Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining protection schemes, as well as authorizing and supervising work on electrical networks.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Implementation: Develop and implement protection schemes for electrical networks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Authorization and Supervision: Authorize and supervise work on electrical networks, ensuring that all work is carried out safely and in accordance with industry standards.
- Technical Advice: Provide technical advice to colleagues and stakeholders on electrical network protection and related matters.
- Installation and Commissioning: Install, commission, and fault-find on new and older protection, automatic transfer systems, and various control systems.
- Testing and Maintenance: Conduct primary and secondary injection testing, as well as maintenance of protection relays, synchronizers, transducers, and other electrical equipment.
- Electrical Knowledge: Possess a strong understanding of electrical drawings, SLD, and control relay logic design documentation.
- Industry Experience: Have experience working with high-voltage (HV) switching and power system protection, as well as power system automation (SCADA & control).
- Qualifications: Be qualified as a Senior Authorized Person (SAP) to 33kV and hold authorizations from a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) or private networks.
- Training: Possess training in emergency first aid, SMSTS, and hold an ECS Card.
