Position Overview

The role of the Coordinator is pivotal in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of psychiatric care within the region. Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Hospital Services, the Coordinator will lead initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and transformation in line with governmental directives and anticipated outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the strategic planning and execution of psychiatric hospital services to ensure adherence to best practices and high-quality standards.
  • Enforce compliance with regulations governing medical-legal care and advocate for these standards across the region.
  • Provide comprehensive clinical and administrative support to department leaders while maintaining close engagement with client-facing teams.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure fair distribution of responsibilities among team members.
  • Partner with both internal and external stakeholders to uphold accountability for the services provided.
  • Monitor and update action plans related to key projects, particularly in the area of legal psychiatry.

The ideal candidate will exhibit a management style focused on results, prioritizing presence and engagement in the workplace. They will foster contributions from managers and teams towards enhancing the quality and safety of care, cultivating a healthy work environment, and nurturing collaborative relationships both internally and externally.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in a relevant field.
  • Additional training in health administration, business management, or public administration is advantageous.
  • A minimum of eight years of professional experience, with at least five years in a leadership role.
  • Membership in a professional order is considered an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of the health and social services landscape, particularly in hospital and legal psychiatry.
  • Experience with the integration of multi-faceted organizations and performance enhancement processes is a plus.
