As a Survey Assistant with GeoVerra, you will find yourself immersed in fieldwork, embracing the beauty of nature while contributing to meaningful projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrive punctually and ready for the assigned tasks and shifts.
- Assist with various operational duties, ensuring tools, equipment, and materials are organized and maintained at project sites and in crew vehicles.
- Foster a positive and professional team environment, serving as a representative of the company.
- Support the Crew Chief in meeting project deadlines and objectives.
- Complete essential safety training and operate all equipment competently.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols set by clients, OH&S, and the GeoVerra Safety program.
- Engage in Emergency Response Planning, Hazard Assessments, and Job Safety Analysis, while participating in daily safety meetings.
Qualifications:
- A diploma or degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in surveying or similar outdoor roles is advantageous.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently for project requirements.
- Commitment to addressing situations that may arise outside of standard working hours.
- Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively with team members.
- Understanding of survey methodologies is a plus.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Completion of training in First Aid, H2S, and CSTS safety protocols is beneficial.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per safety standards.
Working Conditions:
- Out-of-town assignments may involve shift work and frequent travel.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and push weights up to 50lbs regularly.
- Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
