Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Technician, International Tax to join our team. As a trusted advisor, you will develop innovative strategies to help clients streamline processes, maximize efficiencies, and minimize global tax liability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical skills in areas such as corporate income tax compliance, tax accounting, and tax research
  • Apply knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, the Canadian Income Tax Act, and related legislation
  • Set up files for new and existing clients and manage multiple files simultaneously
  • Research tax-related issues and conclude on their potential implications
  • Collect and analyze financial and tax data
  • Review and investigate discrepancies in financial entries, documents, and reports
  • Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns for various entities
  • Prepare correspondence, technical reports, and client summaries outlining engagement findings
  • Collaborate with client engagement teams and build relationships with client contacts
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Requirements

  • Possess a post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in accounting or a relevant field
  • Experience in an accounting, customer service, or client service environment is preferred
  • Previous experience in tax return preparation is an asset
  • Working knowledge of accounting and tax software, such as CaseWare, CCH Axcess, and TaxPrep or Taxcycle, is preferred
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
