Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing WIP reports, calculating cost per unit, and investigating variances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage WIP reports to ensure accurate financial data
  • Calculate cost per unit and report operational results to senior leadership
  • Investigate and explain variances on a regular basis to identify areas for improvement
  • Maintain and update costing database and records in the SAP system
  • Reconcile accounts at period end and post any adjustments as required
  • Analyze operational performance, including pricing, cost, and product performance, and report to the management team
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Perform other analyses and produce ad-hoc reports as required
Requirements
  • Exceptional Excel skills, with advanced or superuser level
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in costing and inventory management
  • Accounting education and background required
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • An investigative mindset with the ability to think outside the box
  • Resilient approach to problem-solving
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Genuine curiosity to learn about business operations and improve internal processes
  • Thorough reporting skills and ability to present results to senior leadership
  • Experience with SAP and IFRS knowledge an asset
