Key Responsibilities- Consultation and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough consultations with patients to evaluate their physical and mental health, and develop effective treatment plans.
- Medication and Treatment: Prescribe and administer medications and treatments as needed, and provide patients with clear instructions and guidance.
- Preventative Care: Inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases, and provide education on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Healthcare Policy and Planning: Participate in the development and implementation of healthcare policies and plans to improve patient outcomes and quality of care.
- Patient Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate, providing support and guidance to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Certifications: College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP) and licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
- Personal Qualities: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, organized, team player, and values and ethics.
- Health Benefits: Comprehensive health care plan, dental plan, and vision care benefits.
- Work Environment: 35 to 40 hours per week, permanent position.
- Language: English.
