We are seeking a highly skilled Asset Manager to join our commercial Asset Management team at Emera Energy. As an Asset Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management and performance of our electric generation assets in the Northeastern US and Canadian energy markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute dispatch strategies to optimize asset performance and maximize earnings.
  • Facilitate hedging opportunities to manage risk and capitalize on market fluctuations.
  • Collaborate with asset stakeholders, traders, and system operators to ensure successful operation and execution of strategies.
  • Assess market fundamentals and indicators to support strategic recommendations for facilities under management.
  • Represent the asset's interests through stakeholder engagements and communications with system operators and governing entities.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in a Business-related field with a minimum of 5+ years' experience in the energy markets.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with attention to detail for problem-solving and independent decision-making.
  • Entrepreneurial thinker with dynamic and adaptable skills, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Superior computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and ability to develop code in various languages.
