Mobile Laboratory Technician

Position Overview:
LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused individual to fulfill a dual role as a Lab Patient Technician and a Mobile Lab Patient Technician. This position is essential in providing high-quality patient care and diagnostic services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lab Patient Technician Duties:
- Welcome patients and gather necessary information, explaining the specimen collection process clearly.
- Conduct phlebotomies, connect and disconnect Holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
- Execute special test collections, including medical/legal drug screens and paternity tests, ensuring all documentation is accurately completed.
- Maintain strong client relationships by addressing inquiries and following up on requests.
- Perform data entry for patient demographics and requisition information.
- Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.
- Mobile Lab Patient Technician Duties:
- Organize daily visits to various facilities and private residences for specimen collection, planning routes efficiently.
- Perform phlebotomies and manage specimen collection processes.
- Deliver specimens to designated laboratories for testing.
- Accession, spin, separate, and prepare specimens for transport as needed.
- Book patient appointments and ensure compliance with test protocols.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding patient needs and scheduling changes.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
- Proficient computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
- Ability to uphold the highest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse individuals.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in dynamic situations.
Compensation and Benefits:
The hiring range for this position is $18.51/hour to $24.68/hour, based on experience and qualifications. LifeLabs offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a retirement savings plan, vacation entitlement, and professional development opportunities.
