Role Overview: The Home Support Worker (HSW) is responsible for delivering comprehensive care to residents under the supervision of the Assisted Living Clinical Manager. The HSW is essential in adhering to established protocols while safeguarding the rights of residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement established personal service plans effectively.
- Deliver personal care services to residents, including assistance with medication, grooming, and meals.
- Respond promptly to call bell notifications.
- Observe and monitor residents' conditions, reporting any notable changes.
- Encourage and facilitate resident engagement in various activities.
- Maintain familiarity with community policies and emergency protocols.
- Participate in community and educational initiatives.
- Conduct housekeeping tasks during night shifts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Completion of a recognized Care Aide Program.
- Current registration with the British Columbia Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
- Valid First Aid Level 1 certification and current CPR certification.
- Medication Administration Certification is mandatory.
- Prior experience in a care community is preferred.
- Proficiency in the English language is essential.
- Successful completion of a vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check.
- Physical capability to perform the duties associated with the position.
