We are seeking a Healthcare Security Specialist to enhance safety measures within our medical facilities.
Vancouver Coastal Health is in search of Healthcare Security Specialists to support operations at various healthcare facilities. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining a secure environment.
As a Healthcare Security Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
Creating a reassuring presence at healthcare locations to uphold and ensure the safety of individuals and property, adhering to established guidelines. Taking a proactive stance in addressing potential threats and aggressive behavior within the healthcare environment, fostering a secure atmosphere for patients, staff, and visitors. Collaborating as part of a Security Team that advocates for trauma-informed practices and safety services, aligned with commitments to cultural safety, anti-racism, and inclusivity.Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Valid BC Security Worker Licence. Certification in Occupational First Aid Level 1 and/or 2 (please note, OFA equivalents are not accepted). Completion of Advanced Security Training, along with one (1) year of relevant experience or a suitable combination of education and experience. Successful completion of the Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum is a requirement for this position.Skills & Competencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with others. Physical capability to perform the duties of the role. Organizational skills to manage tasks efficiently. Proficiency in operating relevant equipment.Additional Information
Work hours, including days off and work locations, may vary based on operational needs and applicable agreements. Successful candidates may need to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
