Tax Manager

At MNP, we are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for leading multiple client-facing engagement teams and delivering industry and technical expertise in taxation and assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead client-facing engagement teams to complete tax engagements
- Deliver technical expertise in taxation and assurance through client interactions, reports, and management presentations
- Evaluate business processes and advise on policy and tax changes
- Liaise with Canada Revenue Agency and relevant provincial ministries on client issues
- Prepare election forms required in corporate reorganizations
- Manage client portfolios and ensure their needs are met
- Accountable for engagement planning and scheduling, as well as project financials
- Maintain high-quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate and address issues
- Network in the local business community and contribute to business development opportunities
- Mentor and coach team members towards professional and personal development
Requirements:
- CPA designation
- Completion of Level 1 of In-depth Tax Program and other specialist development courses is an asset
- 4 to 5 years of relevant public accounting or tax consulting experience
- Extensive working knowledge of Canadian Tax
- Strong understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles
- Proven people management, relationship building, and leadership skills
