Your RoleAs a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing and facilitating the accurate preparation and filing of our company's state and corporate tax forms. You will ensure compliance with state, federal, and Canadian tax laws through a series of systems and controls designed to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Your Responsibilities- Manage direct and indirect tax matters in Canada.
- Ensure quarterly tax reporting is done for internal Kuehne+Nagel requirements.
- Assist in filing Canadian Tax Returns, encompassing Income Tax, GST/HST, and QST returns.
- Provide comprehensive day-to-day tax guidance to all Canadian business units.
- Oversee external advisory engagements to bring outsourced tasks in-house and reduce advisory costs.
- Assist the in-house tax advisor for Kuehne + Nagel's growing presence in the Canadian market, assuming full accountability for Canadian tax affairs.
- CPA/CA or Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role is required.
- 3+ years of experience in the service/international advisory industry is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of state/corporate/partnership tax laws is essential.
- Certifications such as CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program or Master of Tax Program would be an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.
