Job SummaryThe Shop Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, as well as performing general maintenance tasks in our shop area.
This is a key role that requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities- Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including testing and troubleshooting.
- Shop Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized shop area, including performing general housekeeping tasks.
- Interaction with Measurement Canada Officials: Interact with Measurement Canada officials to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Coordinate Pickup and Delivery: Coordinate the pickup and delivery of equipment and materials, including national travel by land vehicle, air, or commercial ferry.
- Management and Documentation of Government Certified Devices: Manage and document government-certified devices, including maintenance and testing.
- Manufacturing Shop Aides and Equipment: Manufacture shop aides and equipment as required, including shelving, storage units, fixtures, and other items.
- General Housekeeping and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including general housekeeping tasks.
- Apply and Promote Englobe's Health and Safety Rules: Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules and regulations.
- Previous Mechanical Experience: Previous mechanical experience is required for this role.
- Valid Driver's License: A valid Canadian driver's license is required.
- Welding Experience: Welding experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of AC and DC Electricity: Knowledge of AC and DC electricity, as well as general logic level voltage practices, is an asset.
- Demonstrated Sensitivity and Consideration for Occupational Health and Safety: Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety is required.
- Previous Mechanical Experience: Previous mechanical experience is required for this role.
