Your Role at SECURE Energy
In the capacity of Field Service Operator, you will deliver technical support and on-site services across all facets of waste management. As a safety advocate, you will play a vital role in our Incident Response Team.
The Team
Our Swift Current, SK team comprises a dynamic group of professionals dedicated to providing exceptional customer service. Each member is committed to collaboration, innovation, and making a positive difference.
Work Environment
This position involves a standard 40-hour workweek from Monday to Friday, with occasional on-call responsibilities. Flexibility in shifts, extended hours, weekend work, and travel may be required based on business needs. Candidates should be prepared to work in challenging weather conditions and environments.
Daily Responsibilities
- Participate in safety meetings and adhere to the company's Occupational Health and Safety Program.
- Attend Daily Tailgates, complete FLHA's and Hazard ID's.
- Conduct waste pickups using cube vans, pickup trucks, and equipment trailers.
- Segregate, package, and transport hazardous materials to our processing facility.
- Complete necessary manifest and paperwork to support waste pickups.
- Assess customer needs and relay information to the appropriate Sales Representatives or Project Coordinators.
- Respond to and assist with all Incident Response activities.
- Operate small equipment such as forklifts and pumps.
- Perform fieldwork, including manual labor at remote project sites as required.
Skills, Experience, & Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record is required. An air brake endorsement or Class 3 driver's license is considered an asset.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, and moving heavy materials.
- Willingness to learn and ensure waste is identified, transported, and disposed of in compliance with Transport Canada and environmental regulations.
- Ability to complete Government Manifests and Bills of Lading for waste pickups.
- Willingness to participate in our paid-on-call program.
- Commitment to adhering to Worksafe BC facial grooming standards to ensure the ability to wear a full-face respirator during work shifts.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Proficient in computer and mobile device usage, with a willingness to learn SECURE's training and online applications.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Capability to work independently without supervision.
- Good listening skills and the ability to follow directions.
- Ability to multitask, assess situations, and prioritize tasks effectively.
