Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide support to students with multiple needs, including physical needs, Autism, developmental delays, behavior, and anger management needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work in a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide physical care and support to students with special needs
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as toileting, dressing, and feeding
  • Support students with behavior exceptionalities, including anger management and crisis intervention
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Use technology and digital tools to support remote learning and communication with students, parents, and staff
Requirements:
  • Two-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field, such as Developmental Service Worker, Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, or Practical Nursing
  • Experience working with students with multiple needs, including physical needs, Autism, developmental delays, behavior, and anger management needs
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge and experience of behavior modification strategies and augmentative communication strategies
  • Experience using technology and digital tools to support remote learning and communication
Preferred Requirements:
  • Non-violent crisis intervention training
  • French language skills
  • First Aid training
