Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute expertise in occupational therapy as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Conduct standardized and non-standardized assessments to inform clinical practice
  • Consult with stakeholders, including caregivers and educational staff, to support participation
  • Develop and evaluate functional plans that promote engagement for both caregivers and children
  • Stay informed about best practices in occupational therapy related to autism
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to create individualized programming
  • Conduct regular visits to assess and implement programming
  • Support goal development across various environments (school, home, community)
  • Gather and analyze clinical data to guide practice
  • Recommend necessary materials and supplies for individualized programming
  • Assist in training paraprofessionals on OT programming
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to paraprofessionals and families
  • Facilitate educational opportunities with partners
  • Identify and report risk management issues to supervisors
  • Lead and facilitate occupational therapy groups as needed
Qualifications:
  • Registered member of the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists
  • Understanding of behavioral intervention programs and child development principles
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven crisis assessment and intervention abilities
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Clear criminal record and child intervention checks
  • Certification in Child and Infant CPR and First Aid
