Join Our Team as a Digital Payload System Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Payload System Engineer to join our Satellite Systems team at our Montreal office. As a leading global independent commercial supplier of antennas, payloads, and electronics for communication and radar satellites, our team has successfully contributed to hundreds of missions in the past 60 years.

About the Role

The Digital Payload System Architect Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, implementing, optimizing, and enhancing end-to-end communication digital payload systems and/or subsystem elements related to the system architecture. This role involves supporting/leading technical projects and end-to-end telecommunications systems engineering activities using digital transponders providing flexibility and connectivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and analyze digital payload systems and subsystems
  • Develop and implement system requirements definition and subsystem specifications for RF and digital equipment
  • Perform requirement analysis and system trade studies
  • Perform link and performance budget calculations and evaluate satellite throughput
  • Generate and supervise methods, standards, plans, and procedures for systems engineering tools and systems tests for payload with digital channel processing
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in digital equipment and signal processing
  • Demonstrated experience in leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and oral presentation skills
  • English required, French fluency would be an asset
  • Strong analytic, technical, and problem-solving skills
