Painting Technician Role

The selected candidate will undertake the responsibility of preparing and applying paint to both interior and exterior surfaces, including trim and fixtures within educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing surfaces through cleaning, repairing imperfections, or stripping old paint
  • Mixing and applying various paints and finishes
  • Delivering decorative finishes as required
  • Planning and organizing work efficiently
  • Safeguarding surrounding areas and relocating furniture as necessary
  • Estimating materials and timeframes for projects
  • Removing and reinstalling fixtures
  • Masking off areas as needed
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of tools and supplies

Qualifications:

  • Alberta Journeyperson or Red Seal Painter certification
  • Valid Alberta driver's license
  • Experience working in educational or institutional environments

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg, climb ladders, and work at heights
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Effective problem-solving and time management abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in computer usage
  • Ability to work collaboratively or independently

Compensation:

$ per hour
