Assistant Professor Advanced Metals Processing
Job SummaryThe Department of Materials Engineering at the University of British Columbia seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor to build on our strengths in metals processing. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of research and teaching in advanced metals processing, with a focus on solidification in additive manufacturing, casting technologies, and other related metals manufacturing technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop an independent, internationally recognized research program in metals processing
- Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise graduate students, and provide service to the University and community
- Emphasize productive relationships across cultural differences and develop an equitable, diverse, and inclusive learning and research approach
- Ph.D. in Materials Engineering or a related field
- Demonstrated expertise in metals processing, with a focus on solidification in additive manufacturing, casting technologies, and other related metals manufacturing technologies
- Strong teaching and research skills, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
Applicants should submit a current curriculum vitae, a 1-page statement of research interests, a 1-page statement of teaching philosophy and interests, and a 1-page statement on how their research and/or teaching would contribute to an equitable, diverse, and inclusive academic environment. Four referees should be listed, with their contact information.
