Job Title: Technician, Games and Animatronics

We are seeking a skilled and mechanically inclined individual to join our Playland Facilities and Maintenance team as a Technician, Games and Animatronics. This role will be responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance on games and attractions, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the safe operation of audio equipment and mobile equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on games and attractions as required.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot games, Fright Nights, and park animatronics.
  • Assist with setup and tear down of games and attractions, including assembly and disassembly.
  • Ensure audio equipment, including wireless mics and PA systems, are operating properly.
  • Operate mobile equipment, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and zoom booms, in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Maintain and document technical specifications and information relating to games and attractions maintenance and repairs.
  • Develop and organize written records, including manuals and other documents.
  • Maintain and organize an inventory of games and attractions supplies, parts, and tools.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and up-to-date Driver's Abstract confirming a clean driving record.
  • 1-2 years of general electronics experience.
  • Previous experience maintaining and repairing Electro-Mechanical devices is required.
  • Post-secondary education or training in electronics is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively.
  • Basic shop skills, such as carpentry, metal work, mechanics, and electronics, is preferred.
  • Ability to interact and receive instruction from others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Must be available to work weekdays and weekends on varied shifts.
  • Forklift license is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work at heights (up to 250 feet) is considered an asset.
  • Must be capable of lifting heavy equipment on own or with a partner.
  • Must be physically able to work in awkward positions.
  • Occupational First Aid Level II is considered an asset.
