Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Machine Shop Supervisor for our afternoon shift to lead our machining team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide all machining personnel to achieve organizational goals effectively.
  • Optimize resource allocation within your area to align staffing and equipment with production demands.
  • Prioritize job assignments to ensure timely completion, utilizing the most suitable machines and skilled workers for optimal efficiency.
  • Inspire and mentor team members in their roles while actively seeking innovative methods to enhance operational performance.
  • Collaborate with lead hands and process technicians to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide orientation, training, and instruction to ensure safe and efficient job execution by all employees.
  • Uphold and promote a safe and healthy workplace in compliance with legal standards and company policies.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to guarantee the safe and effective functioning of all equipment.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback as necessary.
  • Manage production throughput effectively, utilizing outsourced machining when required to meet customer deadlines.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures diligently.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a college diploma or relevant technical experience.
  • Certification as a Machinist with at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is advantageous.
  • Proficient in operating milling machines, large engine lathes, and saws; CNC experience is a plus.
  • A solid technical background in a manufacturing setting is essential.
