Key Responsibilities- Greenhouse and Nursery Operations
- Organize and manage the daily operations of our greenhouse and nursery facilities, ensuring optimal growing conditions and crop yields.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity in our production processes.
- Staff Supervision
- Supervise and train staff in various areas of responsibility, including planting, transplanting, feeding, and spraying.
- Provide guidance and support to staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Quality Control
- Monitor and control reported insect, disease, and weed problems in our greenhouse and nursery facilities.
- Establish and maintain required environments to ensure optimal growing conditions and crop yields.
- Work Schedules and Planning
- Establish and manage work schedules to ensure efficient use of resources and optimal production levels.
- Plan and coordinate production activities to meet customer demands and deadlines.
- Education and Experience
- College or CEGEP diploma in a related field, such as horticulture or agriculture.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of horticulture and agriculture principles and practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a large workload. The ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively is essential.
