Job Title: Logistics Coordinator

At Specialty Building Products, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Supply Chain Department, you will be responsible for maintaining tracking and documentation of all inbound domestic or import vendors, making appropriate decisions regarding freight brokerage, and updating our ERP system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Track Purchase Orders and their movement once shipped.
  • Maintain a tracking report of all outstanding purchase orders.
  • Book all receiving appointments.
  • Communicate with Freight companies, resolve issues, and review rates to ensure competitiveness.
  • Prepare paperwork for Finance department as part of 3-way match procedure.
  • Identify discrepancies with invoices compared to Purchase Order and advise the buyer.
  • Closely collaborate with Distribution Dept. as it relates to the receiving dept.
  • Daily interactions with Customs Brokers and Truckers.
  • Maintain a small buyer/planner portfolio.
Requirements:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Self-motivated and a team player.
  • Excellent investigation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in both official languages is considered an asset.
Experience/Education:
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years in a Supply Chain role in a manufacturing/distribution environment is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and advanced Excel skills are an asset.
  • Strong land and sea logistics background is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • CPIM Certification or on track to be certified is a definite asset.
