Role Overview
We are in search of a seasoned and meticulously organized Building Project Superintendent to manage construction initiatives. The Superintendent plays a pivotal role in directing field teams towards the successful execution of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within financial constraints while upholding exceptional quality and a secure working environment.
Work Environment
IDL Projects' main office is located in Prince George, British Columbia, with several satellite offices and project sites throughout western Canada. This role involves projects that may require travel outside the Prince George vicinity, with potential rotational travel arrangements depending on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and direct all on-site operations, including subcontractor management, scheduling, and monitoring construction progress Ensure all tasks are executed safely, effectively, and within the designated timeline Maintain precise project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and modifications Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure compliance with specifications and design requirements Facilitate clear communication with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and project teams Manage financial resources and ensure projects are delivered within budgetary limits Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and building standards Coordinate and manage all site inspections Perform additional related duties as necessaryRequired Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in the building construction industry Prior experience in a supervisory role such as Superintendent, General Foreman, or Project Manager Familiarity with construction terminology, practices, scheduling, costs, and budgeting Ability to effectively plan and adhere to project timelines Proven safety record and capability to emphasize the importance of safety to field staff and subcontractors Willingness to work out of town as necessary Ability to inspire, lead, and uplift team morale Strong skills in negotiation, organization, time management, and coordination Logical decision-making skills and capacity to perform under pressure Proficient in Excel, Word, Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft ProjectBenefits of the Position
