Job Title: French Immersion Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic French Immersion teacher to join our team in School District #23 (Central Okanagan). The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French Immersion classes in Elementary, Middle, or Secondary schools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach French Immersion classes to students in Elementary, Middle, or Secondary schools
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
Requirements:
  • BC Professional Teaching Certificate
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Experience teaching French Immersion classes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work positively towards the fulfillment of school and district goals
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Training/experience in Quality Assessment practices
  • Indigenous ancestry (as per Special Program with the BC Human Rights Tribunal)

The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $57,972 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
