Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team at Tolko Industries Ltd. as a Senior Communications Professional. As a Corporate Communications Advisor, you will play a critical role in promoting our company's values and supporting engagement within and across our Operating and Business Service Teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute communication strategies that align with our company's business priorities.
  • Provide strategic counsel and communications support to our leaders and team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with our Operating and Service Teams to enhance employee engagement and strategic alignment through the use of standardized tools and processes.
  • Act as an ambassador for our company's brand and communication processes on behalf of the Communications Team.
  • Support emergency response efforts as part of our emergency response team.
  • Prepare briefs for senior management as required.
  • Travel to operations sites to support our business operations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in a strategic communications role.
  • University degree in Public Relations/Communications or a related field.
  • Proven experience in communication and stakeholder engagement strategies in a corporate environment.
  • Strategic communications planning and project management experience.
  • Experience in developing and executing internal and external communication strategies and tactics in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and accountability to deliver results.
  • Experience in leading through influence and holding others accountable in a positive and effective manner.
  • Superior relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize collaborative engagement with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups.
  • Confident and articulate with the ability to share ideas while maintaining a strong sense of team and evaluating what is best for the organization.
  • Must have a continuing record of professional development.
  • Experience in the forestry industry or other resource-based manufacturing business is considered an asset.
