Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant responsible for managing our financial statements, overseeing management reporting (MFR), and participating in annual internal and external audits. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and auditing practices pertinent to the financial services sector in Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of Financial Statements: Ensure the precise and timely preparation of monthly financial statements in compliance with CIRO regulations.
- Management Reporting (MFR): Gather and analyze Management Financial Reports to provide insights into the company's financial performance, trends, and areas for enhancement.
- Financial Analysis: Perform comprehensive financial analysis to identify key performance indicators, variances, and optimization opportunities. Offer recommendations to senior management based on analytical findings.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the formulation of annual budgets and forecasts. Track actual performance against budgeted objectives and provide variance analysis reports.
- Internal Controls: Uphold and improve internal control procedures to protect company assets and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Audit Coordination: Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and regulatory reviews. Prepare necessary schedules and documentation to facilitate audit processes.
- Process Enhancement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the finance department to boost efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is mandatory.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards, CIRO regulations, and auditing practices.
- Experience in financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting methodologies.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Mandarin and English is an asset.
- Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and integrity.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
